Toyota Innova PMS Interval Schedule
The Innova follows the same 5,000 km or six-month PMS interval as most of Toyota's Philippine lineup, whichever comes first, with a free inspection-only checkup at 1,000 km under warranty.
Regular PMS visits then occur at 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, and 20,000 km, each combining an oil change with a rotating inspection. Diesel variants get an added checkpoint: the fuel filter, which needs more frequent attention than on the gas engine, often flagged around every second or third PMS. Major services — spark plugs (gas) or injector and glow plug checks (diesel), transmission fluid, and coolant — land at 40,000 km and 100,000 km.
Because many Innovas rack up high annual mileage from provincial trips, ride-hailing, or UV Express-style use, owners doing 25,000-plus km a year should expect five or more PMS visits annually, and diesel units in particular benefit from not stretching the fuel filter interval.
Casa (Toyota Dealer) Cost per PMS Interval
A standard gas Innova PMS at a Toyota casa typically costs ₱3,200 to ₱5,200 with semi-synthetic oil, while the diesel variant, which needs more oil and a diesel-specific filter, runs ₱3,800 to ₱6,000. Full synthetic oil adds roughly ₱1,500 to ₱2,500 on top of those ranges.
The 40,000 km major service commonly costs ₱7,000 to ₱10,500 at casa across both engine types, and the 100,000 km service — spark plugs or diesel injector service, transmission fluid, coolant — can run ₱10,000 to ₱15,000 depending on variant and branch.
Diesel Innovas in particular benefit from casa's access to genuine fuel system parts and proper diagnostic tools, since a poorly maintained diesel fuel system is one of the costlier repairs to get wrong.
Independent Shop (Talyer) Cost per PMS Interval
At an independent shop, a standard gas Innova PMS typically costs ₱1,800 to ₱3,500, and the diesel variant runs ₱2,200 to ₱4,200, both noticeably below casa pricing for the same scope of work.
Major-interval work at a talyer costs roughly ₱4,500 to ₱7,500 for the 40,000 km-equivalent service and ₱7,000 to ₱10,500 for the 100,000 km service, again slightly higher for diesel due to fuel system parts.
Because the Innova is so common in the Philippines — including among UV Express and ride-hailing fleets — many independent shops specialize specifically in diesel Innova and Fortuner maintenance, so finding an experienced talyer is easier than for less common models.
What's Included at Each Innova PMS Visit
Standard visits cover engine oil and filter change, belt, hose, and battery inspection, tire pressure and tread check, and a brake pad thickness check, which matters more on the Innova given its frequent use for hauling passengers and cargo over long distances.
Diesel variants get an added fuel filter inspection and periodic replacement, plus a check of the glow plugs and injectors at higher mileage — items that don't apply to gas engines but are critical for diesel reliability and fuel economy.
From 15,000 to 20,000 km, air filter and cabin filter replacement join the rotation, and by 40,000 km a proper brake fluid flush is added. The 100,000 km major service brings spark plugs (gas) or a deeper diesel fuel-system service, plus a transmission fluid change on the conventional automatic or manual gearbox.
Common Innova Issues and Diesel vs Gas Repair Costs
Since the Innova uses a conventional transmission rather than a CVT, its gearbox maintenance is straightforward — a transmission fluid change at 40,000 to 100,000 km typically costs ₱3,000 to ₱5,500, without the CVT-specific service required on models like the Vios or Wigo.
Diesel Innovas carry a higher risk of costly repairs if fuel filters and injectors are neglected — a clogged fuel filter alone can cause rough idling and reduced power, and injector cleaning or replacement can run ₱3,000 to ₱15,000-plus depending on severity. Gas Innovas avoid this risk entirely but generally have slightly lower fuel economy for the same load-hauling duty.
Across both engine types, suspension and brake wear track closely with the Avanza given similar family and cargo use — front brake pads commonly need replacement every 25,000 to 35,000 km. If you're deciding between an Avanza and an Innova, the Innova costs more to maintain overall but offers more space and, in diesel form, better fuel efficiency for high-mileage use.
